The New Jersey man who was confronted and hit with objects during his arrest is facing more charges involving weapons and drugs.

Edward Mathews,45, will be facing more charges on top of the other charges of harassment and trespass. Mathews will be additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and intent to distribute a controlled, dangerous substance. During an investigation, officers found a slingshot and ball bearings in his home after his neighbor complained that Mathews could have used a BB gun to damage her car. They also found psilocybin mushrooms and packaging relating to the hallucinogenic drug.
According to the Daily Mail, Mathews’ ex-wife Shannon Schwartzoff claimed her former spouse is not a racist and added that he was drunk during the viral video. ‘He was drunk. And he has been having a lot of problems in the neighborhood with the Home Owners’ Association. There’s been some money gone missing and he is trying to stop that. ‘I don’t want to defend him right now because I am angry at him. But I am going to defend him a little bit because he’s not as bad as everyone thinks he is,” she told the outlet.

Other neighbors said they have been consistently harassed by Mathews as he would make racist statements or damage their property.
