UPDATE: Kanye West Doesn’t Make Ballot In South Carolina

After all that shouting and rambling Kanye did at his first campaign rally, it looks like it may have been for nothing. According to TMZ, Ye just missed the cut in South Carolina to get on the ballot!

Chris Whitmore, Director of Public Information for the South Carolina State Election Commission tells the news site that Kanye’s campaign missed Monday’s deadline to get on the November ballot in SC. Kanye, who is a running with the independent Birthday Party, has a hard 12 PM ET deadline to get the 10,000 signatures needed as a petition candidate, but apparently, the State Election Commission didn’t hear from Ye or his campaign — no traditional signatures and no digital signatures, TMZ reports.

Last week, Kanye even took to his social media to ask voters to put him in the ballot. He tweeted, “If you’re a voter in South Carolina, please sign this petition to place me on the ballot Sponsored by Ye 2020” but it looks like that didn’t help at all.

As we previously reported, Kanye announced that he is running for President on July 4th. Many didn’t believe him at first but he confirmed that he is definitely committed to running to the country.
