As fans, friends, and family continue to pray for Jamie Foxx who is currently recovering at a Georgia hospital following a “medical emergency,” close sources to the actor continue to share helpful updates regarding his health, putting ease at all the concerns.

According to a Friday report by PEOPLE, Foxx’s health is continuing to improve as a source reveals that “He’s OK, thank God.” The sources added, “He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”

Last week a source gave PEOPLE a similar update saying “Jamie seems to be doing better, even joking with family,” the source shared at the time. “Nevertheless, doctors need to get to the bottom of what happened.”

As we previously reported, everyone was initially alerted about the 55-year-old’s health scare when the actor’s daughter Corinne Foxx shared a statement on social media earlier this month. She said, “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she continued. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,” the statement concluded.

Although limited details have been shared and it’s still very unclear what symptoms the comedian may have been suffering from, many of his supporters have been continuing to shower him with love, prayers, and encouraging words online.

Meanwhile, production for the upcoming Netflix film “Back In Action,” which also star Cameron Diaz has resumed filming. Producers used a stand-in for the actor. However, it was said that there’s also a chance the script could get revised so that the remaining scenes will no longer be necessary for Foxx to film even after he leaves the hospital.
