However, the bond came with the following conditions including wearing an ankle monitor, abide by a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. with exceptions for work, legal or medical reasons, he had to surrender his passport and is not allowed to possess or carry any firearms or have any contact with Brooks’ family.
According to the latest updates, Garrett was able to make bail and left the Gwinnett County jail early Wednesday.
As we previously reported, Rolfe was fired from the Atlanta Police Department after the fatal shooting and faces 11 charges, including felony murder. Rolfe tried to arrest 27-year-old Brooks, who had fallen asleep in his car and failed a sobriety test, when Brooks grabbed another officer’s Taser and fled. From there, Rolfe opened fire, fatally shooting Brooks in the back.
The second officer involved, Devin Brosnan, has been placed on administrative leave and charged with aggravated assault and oath violations.
