UPDATE: Central Park ‘Karen’ Issues An Apology After Being FIRED From Job For Calling The Cops On A Black Man
Well look what we have here: Amy Cooper aka Central Park Karen is apologizing for calling the police on a black man on Monday, after the two argued about her unleashed dog.

As we previously reported, Amy was walking her dog while Christian Cooper was bird watching at a wooded area of Central Park called the Ramble. The two, who are not related, went back-and-forth over the dog since they are supposed to be leashed at all times in the Ramble, according to the park’s website. Christian Cooper even recorded a part of their encounter and posted it on Facebook, where it has since been shared thousands of times.
Amy Cooper can be heard saying in the video: “I’m going to tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life.” She immediately faced backlash online and now been placed on administrative leave by her employer, investment company Franklin Templeton. While speaking to CNN, she told the news outlet that she wanted to “publicly apologize to everyone.”
“I’m not a racist. I did not mean to harm that man in any way,” she said, adding that she also didn’t mean any harm to the black community.
She went on to explain why she acted that way at that moment,
“I think I was just scared,” Amy Cooper said. “When you’re alone in the Ramble, you don’t know what’s happening. It’s not excusable, it’s not defensible.”She also told CNN that since the video was posted, her “entire life is being destroyed right now.”
UPDATE: has been fired by investment firm Franklin Templeton.
The company said on Twitter:
“Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton.”
