UPDATE: Alec Baldwin Speaks Out After Accidentally Killing Crew Member With Prop Gun

Alec Baldwin is speaking out on the deadly accidental shooting that left a crew member dead.

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred.” He continues, “I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

As we previously reported, authorities said Thursday that Baldwin, 63, fired a prop gun on a movie set that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and left director Joel Souza wounded. Law enforcement said they do not know right now if the prop gun that Alec Baldwin fatally fired on a New Mexico film set yesterday contained a “live singe round,” despite claims from a LA IATSE Local.

“We haven’t even begun the forensics on that issue,” Sante Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Juan Rios told Deadline this morning.  “That hasn’t been determined by us as of yet,” Officer Rios added. “We expect to have more information next week as our investigation continues.”

So far, no charges have been filed, the sheriff’s office said, adding that the investigation is ongoing. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 1:50 p.m. local time (3:50 p.m. ET) after a 911 call about a shooting on the set, the office said. The Santa Fe New Mexican reported that Baldwin was seen Thursday outside the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office in tears.
