‘Unvaccinated Americans’ Trend As Twitter Users React To President Biden And The White House’s Stark Warning
On Thursday, President Biden warned of a winter of “severe illness and death” for unvaccinated Americans as coronavirus cases continue to spike across the country.
“I want to send a direct message to the American people: Due to the steps we’ve taken Omicron has not yet spread as fast as it would have otherwise done,” Biden said in remarks at the White House following his Covid-19 briefing Thursday. He added, “But it’s here now and it’s spreading and it’s gonna increase. … We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. But there’s good news: If you’re vaccinated and you have your booster shot, you’re protected from severe illness and death,” the President explained.

Jeff Zients, a coordinator of the President’s COVID-19 task force, also followed up with a similar statement on Friday posted by the White House: “We are intent on not letting Omicron disrupt work and school for the vaccinated. You’ve done the right thing, and we will get through this. For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.” Social media users are now reacting to what many are calling a “stark and gloomy warnings.”
One person tweeted, “Who is this for? Unvaccinated Americans are not going to be persuaded by messaging like this.” Another added, The White House is using more alarming language because unvaccinated Americans continue to not listen. It’s not fear-mongering…it’s facts.” A third simply said, “Unvaccinated Americans are fucking it up for everyone.”
