The university of Virginia announced that they have brought in more campus security after receiving threatening emails.
According to U.Va. Police, on Saturday, Nov. 19, the university received a threatening email connected to the planned memorial service at John Paul Jones arena that is set to take place on Saturday afternoon. The memorial is meant to honor the victims killed and injured in the mass shooting on the school’s campus that took place on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The school police released a tweet today (November 21st) stating they are still receiving similar emails, the statement reads, “University police, together with state and federal law enforcement agencies, continue to investigate the threatening emails communication received on November 19th, 2022. Today university officials received several communications of a similar nature and law enforcement is investigating those as well.”
“Going forward we will update our community in the event that we determine a threat is credible. Should you receive any suspicious email communication, please forward them. University police also encourages our community to report anything suspicious to 911.”
Also following the shooting the university has decided to cancel a second in a row in which they were scheduled to play Virginia Tech. The news comes less than a week after UVA canceled a home game against Coastal Carolina University.
As we previously reported, ormer player, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., is accused of opening fire on a bus that was returning from a field trip, killing starting wide receiver Lavel Davis Jr., reserve wide receiver Devin Chandler and linebacker D’Sean Perry. Jones, faces three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of malicious wounding and additional gun-related charges. He is being held without bond.
