The disturbing videos were uploaded on the male student’s Instagram page. One video showed him putting seasoning on the live baby chicks and placing them in the air fryer, while another graphic showed the chicks hanging from a ceiling. After the student was doxxed on Reddit and the video was sent to the school’s administration, the student claimed the baby chicks were fake and were robots he programmed.

“We are aware of an off-campus incident regarding a UofL student and alleged actions of animal cruelty. We take reports of occurrences like this very seriously. After hearing about this off-campus incident, the university immediately related all relevant information to the appropriate authorities for further investigation,” the school said in a statement.

According to WDRB, a UofL female student contacted police after seeing the video, saying it gave her a ‘grimy feeling.’

‘Nice try trying to gaslight, I think anyone that has ever seen baby chicks before can tell that those are real living baby chicks. I would like to see him not be a student anymore, I don’t have a student like that and getting a degree at the University of Louisville is anyway correct.’

Animal cruelty is prohibited under Chapter 525 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes in Kentucky. Some key provisions of the law include:

  1. Prohibition on cruel treatment: Kentucky law prohibits anyone from willfully or maliciously injuring, torturing, mutilating, or killing an animal.
  2. Neglect: It is illegal to deprive an animal of necessary food, water, shelter, or veterinary care.
  3. Fighting: Engaging in animal fighting or attending such events is illegal.
  4. Abandonment: It is illegal to abandon any animal.
  5. Humane slaughter: If an animal is to be slaughtered, it must be done humanely.
  6. Reporting: Anyone who witnesses animal cruelty or neglect must report it to law enforcement or an animal control officer.

The penalties for violating these laws vary depending on the severity of the offense and can include fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of the animal in question.

There haven’t been any updates regarding the student and whether he was taken into police custody over the disturbing footage. However, his Instagram page seems to have deleted all posts as the videos were posted on his Instagram stories.
