Earlier today, the Trump Administration announced that they have expanded the travel ban to Europe by including the United Kingdom and Ireland. The ban will come into effect at midnight on Monday.
According to CNN, the two nations were added to the travel ban after President Trump announced Wednesday that they would be excluded from the 26 countries on the list.

“They have had a little bit of activity, unfortunately, so we are going to be looking at that, actually we already have looked at it and that is going to be announced,”
Vice President Mike Pence said in a statement that American citizens would be able to return to the United States and cargo from the UK and Ireland would also be exempt. However, acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said they would be subjected to self-quarantine once they return to the United States.

Initially, the UK was excluded from the travel because it was not a part of the Schengen Zone, a policy where tourists and travelers can cross European borders without checks.
