More On Travis Scott’s Legal Problems
This is not what Travis really needs right now as he’s still dealing with all the legal problems stemming from the Astroworld festival tragedy.
As we previously reported, on November 5, 2021, a huge crowd crush occurred during the first night the music event founded by the rapper that was held at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. Eight people died on the night of the concert, and two more died in the hospital over the following days.
Along with an apology, Travis Scott announced a new initiative called Project HEAL, following the tragedy. He announced at at the time, “ Over the past few months I’ve been taking the time and space to grieve, reflect, and do my part to heal my community. Most importantly, I want to use my resources and platform moving forward towards actionable change,” Scott wrote on Instagram. “My team and I created Project HEAL to take much needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be. I will always honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy who remain in my heart forever. Giving back and creating opportunities for the youth is something I’ve always done and will continue to do as long as I have the chance. This program will be a catalyst to real change and I can’t wait to introduce the rest of the technology and ideas we’ve been working on.”
Despite that, it didn’t stop his legal problems from coming in. More than 4,900 alleged victims had filed legal claims against Live Nation, Travis Scott and other festival organizers over the disaster at Astroworld that also left hundreds of people seriously injured. Combined, the cases were seeking billions in damages over the disaster.
Howwer, Travis Scott quietly settled the first of these lawsuits privately out of court, according to an Instagram press release from trial lawyer Tony Buzbee on October 20. According to the statement, “the claims brought by the family of Axel Acosta against Travis Scott, Live Nation, and others involved in the Astroworld tragedy have settled.” However, those terms of the settlement are confidential.
Still, he has more cases to battle out in court… which is why this latest assault case in New York may be another frustrating problem for the rapper.
