Just when the Lizzo news started to simmer down a bit, it appears that more people are trying to come forward with new complaints.

According to an exclusive report by @NBCNews, the lawyers representing three of Lizzo’s ex-dancers have said they are now reviewing new complaints from women who claim to have been employed by the singer.

While speaking with the news outlet, Ron Zambrano, the attorney representing the backup dancers, shared that his law firm is now looking into the allegations from at least six people who said they toured with Lizzo and on her Amazon Studios reality show Lizzo’s “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.” He explained that the new allegations are regarding “sexually charged environment” and “failure to pay employees”. But are these new complaints enough to move forward with a lawsuit? Zambrano said, “Some of the claims we are reviewing may be actionable, but it is too soon to say.”

More On The Lawsuit That Has Already Been Fired

As we previously reported, the three former Lizzo dancers named in the suit as Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez and Crystal Williams, alleged they were made allegations of sexual harassment, assault, body-shaming and a toxic work environment. The suit detailed how Lizzo made them touch a performer at an Amsterdam strip club during a tour party. They also Lizzo weight-shamed a dancer who has an eating disorder — this among other allegations.

After news of the lawsuit emerged, Lizzo issued a statement on social media saying she was “not the villain” while denying these big claims. The singer, who is known for championing body positivity, said,

“As an artist I have always been passionate about what I do,” Lizzo, who was born Melissa Jefferson, said in an Instagram post. “I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans.”

“With passion comes hard work and high standards,” the 35-year-old “2 Be Loved” singer added. “Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”

She went on to argue that she is “not here to be looked at as a victim.”

“I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days,” the Grammy Award winner continued. “I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”

It appears that Lizzo is gearing up to fight the case as she has obtained famed lawyer Marty Singer.

The latest news about the new complaints came the same day that the Made in America music festival, which had Lizzo and SZA among the headliners, was canceled.
