Gervonta Davis Back In Custody Over Fresh Domestic Violence Accusations
Gervonta Davis found himself in the slammer again—and yep, it’s over a new domestic violence case. The boxing champ was taken into custody early Friday morning in South Florida. While the details are still coming in, South Florida-based reporter Andy Slater dropped the tea, claiming Davis was “accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend on the back of the head and slapping her.”
“The alleged incident with his ex-girlfriend happened a few weeks ago,” Slater wrote. He also shared that police had been looking for Davis since the altercation. Authorities finally caught up with him in Miami Beach after a license plate reader flagged his car, prompting officers to pull him over and take him in.
This arrest marks yet another chapter in Davis’ rocky history with the law. And judging by his mugshot, he wasn’t too happy about it.

This Ain’t Gervonta Davis’ First Time Behind Bars
Let’s be real—this arrest ain’t outta left field. Gervonta Davis has made headlines before for similar accusations. One of the most talked-about moments happened back in December 2022, when he was arrested on a domestic violence charge in Broward County, Florida.
In that case, he was accused of “causing bodily harm” to a woman. He got out on bond but was hit with a no-contact order with the alleged victim.
And that wasn’t the only legal mess he was juggling. Around the same time, Davis was also serving time for his role in a 2020 hit-and-run incident in his hometown of Baltimore. A judge had originally sentenced him to 90 days of home detention, but things took a turn.
House Arrest? Yeah, That Didn’t Last Long Either
In true Gervonta fashion, even the house arrest didn’t go as planned.
Reports say he violated the terms of his home detention, and in June 2023, a judge had enough. Davis was ordered to finish out his sentence behind bars. From there, he was sent straight to the Baltimore City Central Booking Intake Facility to do his time.
He was eventually released the following month in July 2023, but it was just another chapter in the long saga of his legal troubles.
At this point, Gervonta’s fans are divided. Some are still holding out hope for his redemption story, while others feel like he’s running out of chances.
What’s Next For The Boxer?
Right now, Gervonta’s team has remained quiet on this new arrest, but social media is already in full-blown reaction mode.
Some folks are saying he needs real help—mentally and legally—before stepping back into the ring. Others are calling for accountability, questioning how many times he can get arrested before promoters or sponsors pull the plug.
It’s unclear if this latest arrest will impact any upcoming fights or endorsement deals. But one thing’s for sure—he’s got more battles outside the ring than in it right now.
