Musa Hasahya, 67, is a farmer who told local media that he keeps his 12 wives in his 12-bedroom home in Lusaka, Uganda, to keep them from running off with other men. According to First Post, his youngest wife, Zulaika, has decided to stop having children after giving birth to 11 and wants to start using birth control. Hasahya has expressed a similar sentiment, stating that he wants his “childbearing age” wives to begin using birth control because having more children is becoming too costly for him. He also struggles to remember the names of all 568 grandchildren.
Hasahya became a father when he was 18 years old when his first wife Hanifa gave birth to their daughter in 1973. After he dropped out of school and became a respected businessman in the community, the couple married in 1971. He decided to expand his family because he was wealthy enough to do so.

In Uganda, polygamy is legal in the country as some men have a minimum of four wives.
However, he says he’s been struggling as the years went by and wants government assistance to help him support his family despite not being satisfied with just one woman.
“My income has become lower and lower over the years due to the rising cost of living and my family has become bigger and bigger.I married one woman after another. How can a man be satisfied with one woman. All my wives live together in the same house. It’s easy for me to monitor them and also stop them from eloping with other men in this village,”
Hanifa says her husband treats each wife equally and doesn’t make irrational decisions when it comes to the family.
Social media reacts to the farmer’s situation and some men even compared his situation to celebrities who also have larger families.
After Hasahya’s family went viral on social media, some men did not like the idea of having 102 children and providing for 12 wives. Others said he should’ve taken a hint after reaching a specific number.
