An Uber driver was left in a coma after he was brutally beaten by a group of passengers that he had picked up outside a Queens established.

54-year-old Mohamed Al-Gahaffi picked up three men, two women, one who had pink hair, outside the Privileged Gentlemen’s Club on Queens around 4:25 a.m. on Feb. 5.

During the journey, the driver spotted the group drinking in the vehicle while he drove and a fight broke out while he tried to stop them. He then pulled over on the street and surveillance video shows the fight continue on outside of the car.

According to CBS NY, one of the male passengers punched the driver in the face, knocking him out. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was put in a medically induced coma with severe head trauma.

“It’s horrible,” said New York Taxi Workers Alliance Exec, Bhairavi Desaiot . “Even with dispatching, where the company has all the information on the passenger, we still have so many incidents of drivers being assaulted and seriously injured. People take for granted what a hard and unsafe job driving is.”
