U.S. Supreme Court Blocks Donald Trump From Ending DACA

On Thursday, The Supreme Court made the big move to block the Trump administration’s bid to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which is an Obama-era program that protects hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the US as children from deportation.

Trump and his administration wanted to propose a plan to disband DACA in an effort to crack down on immigration reform within the country. It’s something he’s been trying to do and even made a promise to get it done when seeking election. But rightfully so, the Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday halted that effort.

As the Independent reports, the 5-4 ruling to protect DACA was made with Chief Justice John G Roberts writing the majority opinion and him being joined by the four liberal justices. Of course, President Trump responded to the decision by tweeting his displeasure and turning it into a call for his reelection, while switching his focus on gun-rights supporters:

“The dispute before the Court is not whether DHS may rescind DACA. All parties agree that it may. The dispute is instead primarily about the procedure the agency followed in doing so.”

Of course, President Trump responded to the decision by tweeting his displeasure and turning it into a call for his reelection, while switching his focus on gun-rights supporters:

“These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives. We need more Justices or we will lose our 2nd. Amendment & everything else. Vote Trump 2020!”
