#Socialites, we all know about the viral meme of Tyrese crying — but do you recall where it originated from? Well, back in 2017 Tyrese began trending after several rants online. Weeks later he blamed his”bizarre behavior” on depression meds. In a new interview, he is doubling down on his original claim.

Tyrese Doubles Down On Depression Meds Causing His ‘Bizarre Behavior’ Online In 2017: ‘I Was Out Of My Mind’
At the time, Tyrese had claimed that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith had given him $5 million to help him with his legal fees in his bitter court battle with ex, Norma Gibson — the mother of his daughter Shayla. Tyrese also posted a video of him calling out Norma over their battle.
Weeks following the online meltdowns around October-November 2017, Tyrese went on to blame his “erratic behavior” on a new depression medication he was taking called Rexulti. He said it had had an adverse effect on him, so he had stopped taking it and was getting back to “normal.”

Tyrese wholly stated, “I wanted to formally apologize to all of my fans, my wife, my friends, my loved ones, and everyone that’s gotten a million phone calls after what I know now was some psychiatric meds called Rexulti.
So, have I been stressed about losing my daughter? Yes. But after seeing several psychiatrists and therapists trying to help me out, one of the psychiatrists suggested some medicine and it really f***ed me up in a real way.
And I just wanted to apologize for all my fans and loved ones around the world, my business colleagues, my partners, everybody that’s gotten a million phone calls around the situation, If you know me the way I know you do, then you know something had to be wrong, and that I was not in my normal mind state.”
Nearly 5 years later, Tyrese is doubling down on his medication being to blame for his meltdowns.
He tells ‘Sway’s Universe’ that he didn’t even know he had made the viral videos, and that he doesn’t do drugs or alcohol because it “f***ed my life as a kid.”
In the new interview, he says he never talked to Will Smith, his now ex-wife Samantha Gibson was never pregnant, at the time like he said, he simply was “out of [his] mind.”
