Yikes! After Tyrese called out his ex-wife and daughter’s mother on his new song “Love Transaction,” he tells HOLLYWOOD UNLOCKED that he’s appealing her $20,000 child support case. On the song, the singer, born Tyrese Gibson, accuses his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, of pawning their daughter for child support, leaving him to ask, “Is it really love or just a transaction?”

Now, this isn’t the first time that Gibson has called out his ex-wife over her “unreasonable” child support and divorce demands. The former couple first married in 2017 and ended things almost four years later in 2020; and from then on things got super messy.

Their divorce proceedings have just been a completely rough process, and to make matters worse, they have Soraya Gibson, their four-year-old daughter, caught up in the mix. In 2021, Lee requested that her ex-husband give her $20,000 in monthly child support their daughter, leading him to file a motion to halt his ex’s “unreasonable” divorce demands. At the time he claimed, “She left me while I was out of town filming a movie, now you’re demanding to take my life with you?”

Prior to her demands, Lee alleged that Gibson kicked her and their child out of his $4 million Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia mansion, “and then changed the locks.” However, he claimed that he changed the locks in September 2020 when it became clear to him that Lee “had abandoned the residence and absconded with the parties’ minor child.”

Since then, the former couple had been going back and forth in court over Lee’s divorce demands, and at one point, Gibson found himself held in contempt of court, with a judge ordering him to pay $636,000 in child support and lawyer fees.

Again firing back at his ex-wife’s “unreasonable” divorce demands, Gibson released a new song on Thursday (August 24) called “Love Transaction,” where he calls out Lee for pawning their daughter off for $20,000 in monthly child support.

On the song, he sings, “Up and left, shouldn’t cost a thing / So why must I pay all these lawyer fees? [..] Now you got me asking is this love or is it just a love transaction?” Later he sings, “Dragging me in and out of court / Trying to take all that I’ve been working for / Can you justify what you say the baby needs / Don’t I make sure that she has everything / 20,000 isn’t child support / We both know just who that money’s for.”

Since the release of Gibson’s new song, he has given an exclusive statement to HOLLYWOOD UNLOCKED, in which he breaks down the meaning behind the song and sheds more light on his relationship with his ex-wife, and why he’s accusing her of pawning their daughter. He also revealed that the $20,000 child support case is currently being appealed; adding that the $636,000 order and legal fees have not been paid out.

In his exclusively obtained recording, Gibson also called out the court for allowing parents to be given these thousands of dollars in child support and alimony in their favor, but not have them show any proof of where the money is being allocated, especially when they are online showing off their new, big purchases.

  1. They Rich men need to marry women that is not greedy. Like myself.. I am a good woman my income yearly is 60k… I am not rich but a hard worker. But the rich men would look at me as POOR and would think I just want his money. Look into your heart and search what you’re looking for there are cheaper women out here. I don’t have to be millionaire to live. Just LOVE, Respect, just a amount to live off comfortably. Which I am doing now with my salary. Good luck Mr. Gibson
