Two Cops Involved In Breonna Taylor Murder Have Been Fired

Two LMPD officers involved in the deadly raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor have finally been fired.

Detectives Joshua Jaynes and Myles Cosgrove were fired due to “extreme violations of our policies.” Cosgrove also fired shots during the raid.

However, Jaynes was not present during the raid, but, was fired for making two departmental violations from his actions leading to securing the search warrant for the raid which led to Breonna’s death.

Per AP, the news of the termination was revealed as the department revealed who they had chosen to lead the department, Erika Shields.

“I commit to begin my work here with a focus on rebuilding community trust, trust that I believe was already eroding prior to Breonna Taylor’s killing,” Shields said. “The last year has shown that we in law enforcement have a long way to go.”

Breonna’s mom, Tamika Palmer spoke on the firings,

“I believe you live by the sword you die by the sword. It wasn’t her sword and I refuse to let people believe that that was her sword and that was the way she went out.”
