Twitter Blasts Virgil Abloh After He Sent $50 To Protestors Needing Bail Money
High-fashion designer Virgil Abloh is under fire as Twitter blasted him for sending $50 to protestors needing bail money amid the growing social justice protests across the nation.
As marches blaze on in cities across America, and now even across the pond in Europe, American designer Virgil Abloh, who is the director of Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Wear and is famously known for his Off-White brand, took to his Instagram Stories to share that he’d be sending bailout funds to protestors in the Miami, Florida area.

While posting his receipt of a $50 Cash App transaction to “FEMPOWER,” he wrote, “The Miami community – I’m crazy inspired. For kids in the streets that need bail funds for George Floyd protests.” Although it may have been a good deed, Twitter wasn’t here for the “cheap” donation and immediately blasted Abloh, whose 2020 net worth according to Google is $4 million.
In addition to Abloh, other celebrities have pledged donations to protestors in need of bail money; like Colin Kaepernick, Chrissy Teigen, Steve Carrell, Seth Rogen, and many more.

I have donated 3x more than Virgil Abloh *if* that trash ass donation screenshot is all he’s given. It’s no one’s job 2 give. But in this crisis? EVERYONE must get involved. Either use your voice or platform or open that purse. Like, what’s not clicking? #protests2020 pic.twitter.com/44WnIqrvL2
