During the televised debate, Trump made controversial remarks that shocked the Springfield communities. Despite moderators challenging his statement, the former president claimed that he had “seen people on TV” discussing their dogs being eaten. Vilbrun Dorsainvil, a Haitian refugee who fled his homeland but fled due to violence, explained to the outlet Afton Bladet that he initially laughed at the comments and recalled when Trump called Haiti a “sh*thole country.”

However, Viles Dorsainvil, who works at the Haitian aid center, stated that he has been receiving numerous calls from concerned migrants who are worried about their safety. “Many Haitians are in shock. They are worried for their lives and their children’s safety,” he stated. Despite this, local officials have denied the claims. Earlier, City Hall was reportedly evacuated due to an alleged bomb threat. The individual who made the threat claimed they were “frustrated” with the city’s Haitian immigration issues.

“City of Springfield received a bomb threat that has prompted an immediate response from local and regional law enforcement. As a precautionary measure, the building has been evacuated, and authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our employees and residents. We are working to address this situation as swiftly as possible.”

Vilbrun mentioned that the rumored accusations could incite violence within the community. He emphasized that Haitian migrants are working hard to earn a living and not engaging in the alleged acts.
