President Donald Trump has become the first U.S. President to be impeached twice after the House of Representatives voted on Wednesday that Trump incited the riots at the Capitol building.

The majority voted for the impeachment as the article only needed 217 yes votes after Democrats and Republicans formally agreed that Trumps’s actions and words caused the violent riots last Wednesday. VP Mike Pence refused to invoke the 25th Amendment after Nancy Pelosi gave him a 24-hour ultimatum to remove Trump from office, leading up to Pelosi and other members of Congress to vote on impeachment.

If the Senate convicts President Trump, he will be removed and he cannot run for office again. However, the trial will not happen until after Biden’s inauguration as reported by TMZ.

The Commander-In-Chief continues to deny his influence in inciting the riots and claimed his comments were harmless. Earlier today, he asked his supporters not to use violence during demonstrations and says that is not what he stands for.

“In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking, and NO vandalism of any kind. That is not what I stand for, and it is not what America stands for.”
