Trump Administration Sues Harvard Over Treatment of Jewish Students, Seeks Return of Federal Funds

Well, Trump is back at it again, and this time he’s got his sights locked right back on Harvard University.

On Friday, the Justice Department slid a new lawsuit across the table, accusing Harvard’s leadership of not doing enough to handle antisemitism on campus. And according to them, it’s not just talk, they’re saying it’s serious enough to freeze current federal grants and even run back money that’s already been paid out!

According to the Associated press, the lawsuit, filed in federal court up in Massachusetts, is just the latest move in this ongoing back-and-forth between Donald Trump’s administration and these big-name, elite schools.

In the latest filing, the Justice Department said: “The United States cannot and will not tolerate these failures and brings this action to compel Harvard to comply” with federal civil rights law, “and to recover billions of dollars of taxpayer subsidies awarded to a discriminatory institution.”
Translation? They’re not letting up.

Now Harvard hasn’t said anything yet about this latest lawsuit, but they’ve been here before. In an earlier case, a federal judge basically called cap, saying the government was using antisemitism claims as a way to cut the university’s funding.
But clearly, that didn’t slow anything down.

Ever since Trump got back in office, he’s been coming for major universities especially ones he feels are too left, too outspoken, or just not moving how he thinks they should. We’re talking billions in research grants already frozen, and now lawsuits trying to pull money back too.

At this point, it’s starting to feel like a pattern: big school, big pressure, big consequences. Whew!
