A viral video has been circulating online of a man claiming he snatched one of Ice Spice’s chains from her neck. While many people really believed she was the latest victim of chain-snatching, it turns out it’s just another bad case of clout chasing.
The clip posted to TikTok had everyone trying to figure out if her chain was really taken from her. In the video, the guy says “Ayo, listen, we got Ice Spice chain. Stop playing with me. Pull up. Y’all know where we at.” As he shows the “Queen” chain in the camera, he then taunts and mocks her by rapping one of her songs while changing the lyrics.
Social media immediately blew up with many people slamming the guy for bragging about the alleged crime. One person said, “So you’re tough because you snatched Ice Spice’s chain? Or are you cool now? Does it make you gangsta? Trying to figure out what bragging about it on camera does for you exactly.”
Another said, “Them n*ggas that’s acting like they snatched Ice Spice chain is by far the weirdest sh*t ever….. Why do a lot of you n*gga be so pressed to make us men look bad fam?” A third added, “They robbed Ice spice for her chain? But after all the online commotion, the prankster admitted in the comment section that it was just a joke. He said, “The amount of people who believe this is insane.” He added, “ever heard of a joke?” A source close to the “Munch” rapper also told TMZ that she never even owned a piece like that.
Despite that, people are still not here for the prank. Twitter users continued to react online. “I saw people complaining about a man taking Ice Spice chain even though it’s obvious it’s a joke. And their excuse is that women shouldn’t be robbed. These people are looking for a come up they don’t give af what you are or identify as! They snatch niggas chains too. Nobody safe.”
