Travis Scott has been announced to headline the Day N Vegas festival in September, which will be his first major concert gig since the infamous Astroworld tragedy. The announcement was made on Tuesday, with Travis set to join the likes of H.E.R, Summer Walker, J. Cole, and SZA for the star-studded show, further indicating that the rapper could potentially be staging his long-awaited comeback after having kept a low profile these past seven months.

On the evening of November 5, at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas, things at Astroworld got out of control when a stampede occurred in the crowd, subsequently killing 10 people while more than 4,900 people were left with injuries, per Billboard. Multiple concertgoers who were hurt or had lost a loved one at the festival went on to file lawsuits, with their attorneys holding Travis liable for damages.

A month after the incident, the SICKO MODE chart-topper sat down for an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, insisting that he “didn’t hear” the crowd who attempted to stop the show by yelling and jumping onto stage equipment to grab his attention. When The Breakfast Club radio host asked whether there were things he could’ve done differently, Travis responded, “Everything I physically [could], sure, yes. And, if knowing what was going on … you just wish you could have done something better. But, standing there, 1,000 percent.”

“Anytime you can hear something like that you want to stop the show,” Travis continued. “You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need. I just go off the fans energy. But I just didn’t hear [screams]. I’m always here. I’m in this with you guys I love you and I always be there to help you guys heal through this.”

Travis Scott Recently Became A Dad Again

Travis was rarely seen after his interview, seemingly having shifted his attention to the birth of his son, Wolf, in February, whom he shares with Kylie Jenner. According to the cosmetics mogul, the baby’s name has since been changed because she didn’t think it suited his personality but they have yet to share the new name with the public. Kylie and Travis are now parents to two children, having welcomed 4-year-old daughter Stormi in February 2018.

Just last month, Travis gave his first TV performance since Astroworld when he was invited to perform at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards after host and executive producer P. Diddy had pledged to “uncancel” the Texas native. “The mood of the show is about love and forgiveness. As a musical family, none of us are saints; none of us are without things that happen to them in life,” the Bad Boy Records founder told Billboard ahead of the awards ceremony.

“So one of the things I’m doing directly is un-canceling the canceled. That’s breaking news because people haven’t been about canceling. But canceling is a trend that needs to stop.”
