Travelers Faking Negative Covid Tests To Be Approved For Travel

A the Coronavirus spreads and new strains develop, many airlines, airports and officials are requiring proof of a negative COVID-19 test before allowing an individual to travel.

However, some passengers have found ways to fake a negative test so they can still travel despite putting the lives of those who are most vulnerable to the virus at risk.

“I just fired up Photoshop and changed the date,” said one man on Motherboard.. “Fun fact, the document [test result] was in French whereas they were in Sweden the day it was supposedly made, but they didn’t see a problem in that.”

According to the NY Post, another traveler changed the date of their test so that they still fell in the time-frame. As of now, none of those people have been punished.

Many passengers are complaining that the rapid tests are very expensive and it motivates them to fake their results.

“Yeah, motivation is mostly to save money,” one passenger said. “kind of scared, but nevertheless I think it’s very likely that most Airline workers are not looking out for this type of fraud.”
