Many celebrities have been open and honest about using Ozempic to lose weight and now Tracy Morgan is the latest star to admit to it.

During an appearance on Monday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the 54-year-old comedian was complimented on how good he looks. Hoda Kotb told him, “You’ve been working on your body and your health.” Morgan quickly responded, “No, that’s Ozempic.”

Co-host Jenna Bush Hager then asked if he was serious and Morgan replied, “That’s how this weight got lost. I went and got a prescription and I got Ozempic. And I ain’t letting it go!”

Speaking about his weekly routine, Morgan went on to share, “I take Ozempic every Thursday,” he said while mimicking how he takes the injection in his stomach. It cuts my appetite in half. Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos,” Morgan said jokingly.

More On Ozempic

Ozempic is a medication that is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. Ozempic works by helping to lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes, which can help to improve glycemic control. It is usually taken once a week as an injection. While it’s recommended to consult with your healthcare provider for more specific information about medications and how they might relate to your personal situation, there’s been a trend of people using them for other reasons… like weight loss.

As it’s been reported, Ozempic can indeed help with weight loss in addition to its primary function of managing blood sugar levels. While the exact mechanisms aren’t fully understood, studies have shown that GLP-1 receptor agonists like Ozempic can lead to weight loss due to several factors:

1. Reduced appetite: Ozempic can help suppress appetite, leading to a decreased desire to eat and potentially resulting in lower calorie intake.

2. Slower stomach emptying: Ozempic can slow down the rate at which food leaves the stomach, helping you feel fuller for longer periods and reducing the likelihood of overeating.

3. Increased satiety hormones: GLP-1 receptor agonists stimulate the release of hormones that promote feelings of fullness and satisfaction after meals.

It’s important to note that the weight loss effects of Ozempic can vary from person to person, and it should not be solely relied upon as a weight loss treatment…

Despite that, other stars have also opened up about taking Ozempic or similar drugs to drop weight including Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, Patti Stanger, Emily Simpson, Sharon Osbourne, Charles Barkley, and more, People Notes.
