The news site reported that Ceasar McDowell, a member of Tory Lanez’s legal team and CEO of Unite the People, told them that the Toronto-born rapper’s son got to visit his dad two weekends in a row at California Correctional Institution Tehachapi.

This is the facility where Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was last admitted, and where he is less than four months into his 10-year prison sentence in the shooting of Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

According to TMZ’s sources, they are told that a family member drove Lanez’s son to the prison to see his father for two weekends in a row. The site also reported that Lanez and his son were not required to talk to each other through glass.

Instead, the father and son duo were able to sit at a table, where they reportedly spent about four to five hours together on Saturday and Sunday. During their prison visits, Tory Lanez and his son Kai, with whom he shares with Raina Chassagne, would keep busy by playing board games, doing some drawing, and grabbing and eating snacks together out of a nearby vending machine.

The site also reported that Lanez was super happy to see his son and gave him tons of hugs, especially since he was unable to see and spend time with his mini-me for the holidays. Despite not being able to see each other in person, the two are said to be in frequent communication with each other.

During Tory Lanez’s Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial in 2022, he often brought his son to court. However, when Lanez was convicted, and later sentenced in August 2023, he was forced to keep a memory of his son until he could physically see him again.

As we’ve previously shared, Lanez was found guilty of all three charges against him in 2023. Those charges included: negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. He is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence, which he and his revolving legal team members have continued to appeal.
