Tory Lanez Reportedly Regrets Listening To Lawyer & Not Testifying In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial

As we are currently witnessing, the “Say It” singer has fired everyone on his legal team from his initial trial, and has been one-by-one adding new defense attorneys to his team as he prepares to appeal the jury and judge’s decisions in his first case.

The Toronto singer and rapper has dropped his main lawyer, George Mgdesyan, and he has since obtained representation by powerhouse attorneys David Kenner (who previously represented both Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight in the ‘90s) and Matthew Barhoma.

In addition, he most recently retained  Jose Baez, the defense attorney who famously got Casey Anthony off the hook in her child murder case and Aaron Hernandez free in his murder case.

Now as Tory prepares to file a motion for anew trial, Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon reports that Tory believes he was misguided by his trial lawyer, who advised him not to testify in his own defense.

Dillon say a “well-placed source” claims Tory, real name Daystar Peterson, wanted to take the witness stand to plead his case directly to jurors, but apparently his ex-attorney George Mgdesyan “dissuaded him” from getting on the stand and sharing his testimony from the night that changed his and Megan’s lives forever.

The 30 year old entertainer has since been convicted of all three charges in has case, as of December 23, 2022, and he is now facing up to 22 years in prison at his sentencing, which is set for February 28.

In addition to the victim in the case, Megan Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, her ex-best friend Kelsey Nicole Harris, who was present during the altercation with Tory, also shared testimony during the two-week trial.

There was also a male witness who testified, plus Megan’s stylist E.J. King.

According to Nancy Dillon, Tory told Judge David Herriford that he did not want to testify after prosecutors told the court they planned to present “a stockpile of impeachment evidence” if Tory took the stand.
