Tony Yayo Takes Credit For Popularizing BBLs: ‘I Started The BBL Movement By Putting Buffie The Body In The ‘So Seductive’ Video’

#Socialites, do you agree with Tony Yayo? The former G-Unit rapper is taking credit for popularizing BBLs in the music and entertainment industry. He claims, “I started the bbl movement by putting Buffie the Body in the ‘So Seductive’ music video.”

While the current trend seemingly looks at women transitioning back to natural or not-so-enhanced bodies, having a huge booty with a slim waist had been all the rage, and perhaps still is; but some of our favorite BBL celebs are going back under the knife to remove the extra fat and slim down.

Prior to big round behinds being “the standard look” in Hollywood and Hip-Hop videos, we all know back in the day (80s and early 90s), the natural bodies were “in,” even if you were a little thick with some cellulite. Then things began to change over in the late 90s and early 2000s as rap evolved.

A part of the new era of rap and Hip-Hop was 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew, which he co-founded with Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. The group would then welcome Young Buck, and also briefly include The Game, plus Mike Knox, Kidd Kidd, DJ LS One, and DJ Whoo Kid. As of 2022, the group and its remaining members officially disbanded, with 50 Cent noting there would never be a reunion.

Prior to all the internal drama with the group-mates and the G-Unit Records head honcho, the crew dominated Hip-Hop for some time and made some history; and now one of the founding members is wanting his flowers for something other than his lyricism: popularizing BBLs.

In a recent episode of ‘The Danza Project,’ Tony Yayo, also joined by Uncle Murda, took credit for starting the BBL movement with his “So Seductive” video and featured video vixen, Buffie the Body. However, before Yayo could explain his reasoning, Murda appropriately gave props to the late and great icon DJ Kay Slay for truly popularizing BBLs and curvy women in general. Murda called him “The Godfather” of highlighting curvy body types with his ‘Straight Stuntin’‘ magazine series.

Murda said, “He damn near brought that to the game with them magazines.” Interjecting, Yayo said, “It was to the point where the [music video] director, they put the Dominican joint — ’cause you know [in] New York we got bad Dominicans, bad Puerto Ricans — but they would put them in the joint […] I’m like, ‘I might want some chocolate sh*t with the fatty in my sh*t!’”

Yayo continued to explain how he always wanted to show off curvy bodied women in his music videos. He added, “That’s when I did ‘So Seductive,’ I had Buffie the Body. She was the first BBL you seen in your life. So when you think about it, I started the BBL movement! Give me my props! […] Not me personally, but I started the movement. ‘Cause listen, Buffie the Body was the first girl you ever seen get her body done. That was ’04, ’05, ’06. Slay was rocking hard, but I put that sh*t on the forefront with the video ‘So Seductive.’ That was the fattest a** you seen, shout out to Buffie.”
