Comedian, Tony Hinchcliffe who recently went viral for his comments made during Donald Trump’s October 27th rally in New York City, recently weighed in the controversy and made it clear that he’s not issuing an apology.

In a video that was recorded the night after his speech at Trump’s rally Hinchcliffe admitted to an audience that Trump’s rally probably wasn’t the right place to make those jokes but also stated he refuses to apologize. “Last night I gave a speech, I don’t know if you heard about this,” Hinchcliffe said during the intro to his live podcast. “It was a speech about free speech, believe it or not. I am currently under attack. I am the news. I referenced Puerto Rico, which currently has a landfill problem in which all of their landfills are filled to the brim. I am the only person who knew about this, unfortunately. With that said, I just want to say that I love Puerto Ricans, they’re very smart people — they’re smart, they’re street smart, they’re smart enough to know when they’re being used as political fodder. Right now that is happening.”

“I apologize to absolutely nobody,” he continued. “Not to the Puerto Ricans, not to the whites, not to the Blacks, not to the Palestinians, not to the Jews, and not to my own mother, who I made fun of during the set. Nobody clipped that. No headlines about me making fun of my own mother.”

Hinchcliffe ended off his speech saying, “Perhaps that venue at that time wasn’t the best fucking place to do this set at. But in any matter, to the mainstream media and to anybody trying to slander me online: That’s what I do, and that’s never going to change.”

As we previously reported, Tony Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico as garbage and caused a lot of uproar on social media. When the backlash was hitting the comedian heavy he did speak out on X to try and clarify his comments.

Hinchcliffe reacted to a video shared on X featuring Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez weighing in on his speech. “These people have no sense of humor,” Hinchcliffe wrote on X. “Wild that a vice presidential candidate would take time out of his ‘busy schedule’ to analyze a joke taken out of context to make it seem racist.”

“I love Puerto Rico and vacation there,” he continued. “I made fun of everyone…watch the whole set. I’m a comedian Tim…might be time to change your tampon.” As we previously shared, Hinchcliffe’s speech also featured jokes aimed at Jewish individuals and Black men by making a joke about black people choosing to carve watermelons for Halloween instead of pumpkins.
