A new state of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein has drawn attention after it was placed on the National Mall earlier this week.

The unusual installation quickly sparked conversation among visitors, tourists, and people online. The statue appeared with the U.S. Capitol visible in the background. According to reports, the art installation was unveiled Tuesday, March 10. The piece stands roughly 12 feet tall and recreates the famous bow scene from the film Titanic. In the statue, Jeffrey Epstein stands at the front of a ship with his arms stretched outward. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump stands behind him holding his wrists.

The installation references the iconic scene in the film where the characters Jack and Rose stand at the front of the ship at sunset.

The statue was placed by a group called The Secret Handshake, which describes itself as a small organization of citizens who use art and humor to encourage political conversation.

12-Foot ‘Titanic’ Inspired Statue Of Donald Trump And Jeffrey Epstein Appears In Washington DC

The 12-foot installation recreates one of the most recognizable moments from the 1997 film Titanic. In the movie scene, the characters Jack and Rose stand at the bow of the ship with their arms stretched out as the ship sails forward.
The statue on the National Mall mirrors that moment closely. In this version, Jeffrey Epstein stands at the front with his arms stretched outward. Behind him, President Donald Trump holds Epstein’s wrists as both figures face forward.

The artwork features partial gold spray paint across portions of the sculpture. This design choice makes parts of the statue stand out against the surrounding structure of the ship.

The installation also carries the title “The King of the World.” The title references a famous line from the same Titanic scene. In the film, Jack—played by Leonardo DiCaprio—stands at the front of the ship and shouts the well-known line: “I’m king of the world.”

By referencing that moment, the creators tied the statue directly to one of the most memorable scenes in modern film history. The recognizable pose and title helped many visitors quickly understand the inspiration behind the artwork.

Although temporary art installations are not uncommon in Washington, D.C., this particular piece stood out due to its location and subject matter. The statue appeared with the U.S. Capitol building visible behind it, making it noticeable to tourists and people visiting the National Mall.

Art Installation “The King of the World” Includes Plaque And Banners

In addition to the statue itself, the installation includes several other visual elements that expand on the message presented by the artwork.
A plaque attached to the side of the statue contains written text that references the original Titanic storyline. The plaque reads:

“The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches.”

The plaque then continues with additional text connected to the figures represented in the sculpture. It states: “This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches.”

These words appear directly on the installation and form part of the artistic display created by the group responsible for the project.
