Tina Turner Sells Music Rights For Reportedly $50 Million: “My Work Is In Reliable Hands”
The icon, Tina Turner sold her music catalogue over to publishing company BMG, including her major hit songs like “The Best,” “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It.”

The deal also show that BMG now owns the rights to Turners name, image and likeness for future sponsorships and merchandising deals. It is unclear how much the exact number she sold her music rights for, but sources have confirmed that it is at least $50 million.

The 81-year-old star is one the most talented to ever touch a microphone, but according to Turner she is confident that her music is in “reliable hands”.
“Like any artist, the protection of my life’s work, my musical inheritance, is something personal,” Turner, 81, said in a press release from BMG. “I am confident that with BMG and Warner Music my work is in professional and reliable hands.”

“Tina Turner’s musical journey has inspired hundreds of millions of people around the world and continues to reach new audiences,” BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch shared in a release. “We are honored to take on the job of managing Tina Turner’s musical and commercial interests. It is a responsibility we take seriously and will pursue diligently.”
“She is truly and simply, the best,” he added.
