Tina Knowles has taken to Instagram to issue a response following rapper Method Man’s recent interview on the Math Hoffa podcast, where he apologized to Destiny’s Child. As previously reported, the 51-year-old had opened up about his past struggles with “low self-esteem” and how that impacted the way he treated those around him, particularly his fellow industry peers.

He recalled how an interaction with Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams at the 2004 MOBO Awards in the UK appeared to have left a not-so-pleasant impression on the girls as Method Man said he felt some type of way after not receiving the welcome he expected from them. “I see the girls, so I kinda moseyed out of my seat to go over and say what’s up to them. I go over to say hi to them and when I said hi, they didn’t even turn around and acknowledge me.”

His low self-esteem had him thinking Bey, Kelly and Michelle were trying to shade him by not reacting to his gesture when in fact, they simply didn’t hear him. Later during the awards ceremony, Method Man and Destiny’s Child crossed paths again, when he told them, ‘Go ‘head with that Hollywood s—.’” After professing his remorse in the interview, Tina reposted the video with the caption, “Thank you Method Man. It takes a real man to tell this story! Such a great example for other young men❤️. Don’t assume someone is dissing you.”

Method Man had attended the MOBO Awards to honor Janet Jackson with the ICON award that night.

Further during this candid chat on the podcast, the Wu-Tang Clan star addressed his former feud with fellow rapper Joe Budden, whose differences appeared to have reached an all-time high in 2009, when Method Man said he was ready to “snuff” the “Pump It” lyricist.

The pair had crossed paths with each other at an event in Long Island before things quickly escalated into a scuffle and people were forced to disperse to escalate the heated situation. From there, Method Man said he was asked to speak with Joe in private, and though he was still venting from the situation that happened moments prior, the pair ended up having a thought-provoking discussion that seemingly resolved any tension between them.

“Now, Joe, you don’t know this, but the whole time you were talking, I was gonna snuff you but the reason why I didn’t, in that moment, was ’cause you said some real s**t. Now, I don’t know exactly what it was word for word and s**t, but it was definitely something that made me think in that moment, ‘Joe’s a very smart moth***cka.’ Chess, not checkers.”
