A Tiktoker was fired from his job after living in a cubicle for four days as a form of protest to prove he couldn’t afford to work and pay rent.

Chibuzor Ejmofor aka Simon Jackson recorded his living experience in an office cubicle on TikTok and protested that his employer, Arcadis,  didn’t pay him enough to work and go home. “I’m moving from my apartment into my cubicle at work. They do not pay me enough to do both, so as a matter of protest, I am just going to live at my job, and we’ll see how long I can get away with this,” he said in a voiceover.

He also made the decision to live in the Seattle office due to his lease ending and the rent being increased. Additionally, no apartments were accepting his applications as told to The New York Post.

“[The apartments] were too expensive anyway, and I was denied a performance review by my employer. When I found my company had an empty office downtown, this was the perfect solution as it was close to all of the venues I frequent and it would be free,”

His goal is for employers to give out bonuses based on performance reviews rather than treating everyone the same. His termination was also seen as an exit from the corporate world since his following grew massively on TikTok.

“I’ve gotten so many views now, so maybe I can take that and work on building my brand. I can always find another job if that doesn’t work out.”
