Tiffany Haddish is remembering her beloved late dog who not only served as a companion but also a trusty sidekick.

During a recent appearance on Paris Hilton’s podcast, I Am Paris, Tiffany Haddish talked about how special her dog Dreamer was. Her sweet pet sadly died of cancer last year after spending 14 years with the entertainer.

Looking back on the time they shared, the 43-year-old said, “I believe she came to me to just let me know who has an STD.” She went on to say, “She let me know what dudes to deal with, and what dudes not to deal with.” When asked by Paris to go into more detail, Haddish went on to share “If a dude came in the house she would walk up to him immediately. Greet them, she’d smile… like, she’s a blue-nosed pit bull so she has this big ol’ smile —  and then she’d instantly smell their genitals.” Not only would Dreamer “smell their butt, and then she would come over to me and she would sit,” Haddish said, “if she sat and just sat there and just like, kind of smiled, it’s all good.” However, “If she sat there and she started sneezing,” Haddish said, “I’m like, ‘Oh he’s sick.’ ”

The interesting revelation made Paris Hilton giggle. Haddish proceeded to share how she would react when her dog gave her the alert.

“I would say something. I would be like, ‘When’s the last time you got a checkup? When’s the last time you went to the doctor?’ And they would be like, ‘What, what, uh, what?’” Now as alarming as that might’ve been to her, Haddish said she wouldn’t immediately reject them. Instead, she would tell them, “Look, if we’re gonna hook up, you definitely got to go to the doctor.”

Shockingly, when they did go for a checkup, “They would go and they would have stuff,” Haddish said… so ultimately Dreamer would be right. “She knew,” Haddish said. “She could smell it. She was an STD-sniffing dog.”

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, and they can indeed detect certain illnesses or changes in a person’s body odor. In fact, there are numerous documented cases where dogs have been trained to detect various medical conditions, including cancer, diabetes, seizures, and even infections.

When it comes to sickness, dogs can detect changes in the body’s chemistry and odor caused by various diseases. For example, some dogs have been trained to identify the scent of certain types of cancer cells, leading to earlier detection and potentially saving lives. In the case of infectious diseases, dogs may be able to detect specific scents associated with the illness. This has been observed in dogs trained to sniff out diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, and even certain bacterial infections.

While dogs’ ability to detect illness through scent is impressive, it’s important to note that they are not infallible. Their accuracy can vary depending on factors such as training, individual dog abilities, and the specific disease they are being trained to detect. It’s always advisable to consult medical professionals for an accurate diagnosis.

So, the next time you see a dog giving you a curious sniff or exhibiting unusual behavior around you, don’t dismiss it as mere curiosity. They might just be trying to tell you something about your health. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll have our very own “STD-sniffing dogs” like Tiffany Haddish’s beloved furry friend.
