Thousands Of Customers’ Porsches, Lamborghinis And Bentleys Stuck On Burning Cargo Ship Adrift In The Atlantic
If you are waiting for your luxury vehicle to be delivered, you might want to check with your dealer on its location!
Thousands of Porsches, Audis, and Bentleys and Lamborghinis are currently stranded on a burning cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Sailers on board the The Felicity Ace fired off an alarm after a fire broke out in the hold, per the Portuguese Navy said in a statement. The 650-foot-long ship can carry 4,000 cars.
The Associated Press reports that the navy managed to rescue all 22 crew members from the ship, which was scheduled to arrive in Rhode Island from Germany.
Porsche Cars North America sent a statement to NBC Bay Area,
“Our immediate thoughts are of relief that the 22 crew of the merchant ship ‘Felicity Ace’ are safe and well. A number of our cars are among the cargo. We are in contact with the shipping company and the details of the cars on board are now known. While it remains too early to confirm what occurred and next steps, we are — along with our colleagues at Porsche AG — supporting our customers and our dealers as best we can to find solutions. Anyone concerned by this incident and the implications on the car they’ve ordered should contact their Porsche dealer,” the company said in its statement.
