Thomas Markle Says Royals Are NOT Racist But Hopes The Skin Color Comment About Archie Was Just A ‘Stupid Question’
Socialites get into this! Thomas Markle has decided to speak out following his daughter Meghan and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
While appearing on “Good Morning Britain,” Thomas Markle Sr. defended the UK royal family over claims of racism toward Meghan Markle. He said, “I don’t think the royal family are racist at all. I don’t think the British are racist,” but added: “Los Angeles is racist. California is racist.”
He also weighed in on one of the biggest revelations from the sit-down: The Royal family’s “concerns and conversations” about how dark her child’s skin would be while she was pregnant with Archie. Thomas said, “I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody — it could just be that simple. It could be somebody asked a stupid question rather than being a total racist,” he told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Tuesday morning.
He later added: “It could have been just the stupid question from someone, someone who doesn’t understand that, a Black person marries a white person, what you get, you get a baby, that’s what you got. You got a baby. Maybe we’re getting a little too political,” he said.
