More On His Passing

The heartbreaking news shocked many fans as many initially didn’t believe the reports.
He had been promoting the John Wick 4 release, in which he reprised his role as Charon, a role he had played since the franchise started in 2014. However, LAPD told outlets that they “responded to a medical emergency call” in the Valley Village-North Hollywood area at 9:25 a.m. on that Friday morning.

His rep later confirmed as she issued a statement, “He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Donations in his memory can be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown. Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”

The late actor’s widow also wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday, “Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support, and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”

His “Wire” co-star Wendall Pierce looked back at Reddick as a “man of great strength and grace” in a tribute on Friday. “As talented a musician as he was an actor,” Pierce wrote. “The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here.”

Viola Davis also wrote in a tribute post, “Shocked!! Speechless!! This talented, kind, intelligent King is gone!! I was blessed to have worked with you and blessed to have known you. Praying for comfort for your family and loved ones! Rest well Lance Reddick…..see you on the other side.”
