The United States now has 1 million confirmed coronavirus cases, almost a third of the world’s cases, and three months after the first case was reported in the country.

Yahoo! News reports the exact number issued by the Johns Hopkins University dashboard is 1,002,498 as of Tuesday. The number of deaths has increased to 57,000 and is approaching the number of Americans who were killed during the Vietnam War. Despite this new milestone, states are considering lifting their “Stay-At-Home” orders.

The data presented by the dashboard shows 112,000 Americans have recovered from the virus. Currently, there are over three million cases worldwide and more than 217,000 deaths.
