In episode three of ‘The Jason Lee Show’ on REVOLT, HU Founder Jason Lee is joined by La La Anthony and Da’Vinchi. The pair have been on a promo run in support of the second season premiere of STARZ’ gripping series ‘BMF,’ so it was only right that they would stop by the show for a candid interview.
Outside of talking about the show, though, Anthony and Da’Vinchi also touched on a string of other topics, such as long-standing rumors that they’re dating. As fans might recall, back in May 2022, the host-turned-actress was seen holding hands with her co-star, leading a lot of people to think they were in a secret relationship.
While neither of them ever addressed the speculation that arose on social media, Lee was sure to ask them about it during their chat. “Were you falling?” Da’Vinchi said as he tried to recall where the photo of him holding hands with Anthony was taken.
“No, I wasn’t,” she interjected. “But I will say this; we were walking through a crowd of people. We were at a concert, and he did grab my hand to make sure I could get through. And I did appreciate that and we did not expect for it to be a whole thing.”
Anthony reiterated that she and Da’Vinchi are simply friends and that sometimes friendships are better than anything else, including relationships.
“Not in my community,” Lee joked.
Anthony turned to Da’Vinchi and asked, “Has that happened to you when you’ve been friends with somebody and you took it to another level, sh** gets f*****d up sometimes and you’re like, ‘Damn, I ruined the friendship.’”
“I think people aren’t just aware, like, sometimes you can have a platonic, cool a** relationship with a person and they automatically think that it’s something big.”
Anthony and Da’Vinchi also talked about the process of getting ready to film raunchy scenes, stressing that while people might think getting nude on camera is comfortable, Anthony would certainly beg to differ.
The New Yorker sent people into a frenzy in 2017 after going topless in a sex scene with Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, on ‘Power.’ Anthony, who portrays LaKeisha Graham, noted that filming these sort of scenes are actually “very awkward.”
“It’s ‘stop,’ it’s ‘go.’ It’s ‘put your hand here, do this.’ It’s not just a, ‘Oh, action, do what you want.’ It doesn’t work like that. You also meet with the intimacy coordinator; you kind walk through all the steps, like, okay, ‘I’m gonna put my hand here.’ […] It’s not how great people think it is.”
Anthony later revealed that Da’Vinchi initially wasn’t comfortable filming a sex scene, but he decided to do it anyway because he’s committed to his profession as an actor.
Lee, who confused Anthony’s remarks about a sex scene with a full-frontal scene, chimed in, “He did what?”
“The sex scenes,” she told him.
“Oh, I was like, ‘Full frontal? They didn’t put that in the notes.”
Outside of formerly being one of the most recognizable television hosts and now TV actress, Anthony has also built up a reputation for being good friends with, well, literally everybody. From Ciara to Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Jay-Z, and Kelly Rowland, it’s fair to assume that she probably has the best contact list on her phone.

Lee didn’t hesitate to question Anthony why she believed everyone in Hollywood tends to like her.
“Like, everyone likes Lala,” he said. “Nobody has said a bad thing — you know I was working with Ye for a little while. Even Ye liked Lala. Why is it that everybody likes you?”
“I think it’s just, I’m genuine. I definitely am honest; I keep it real. I know how to give advice without hurting people’s feelings. I know how to be straightforward without hurting people. And everyone’s secret is safe with me. I don’t get involved in any messy stuff, I don’t do anything like that.”
