According to Vulture, rumors on social media started circulating about Annabelle being missing from Ed and Lorraine Warren’s occult museum and home in Monroe, Connecticut until it was confirmed their doors have been closed since 2017. Monroe Police Chief John Salvatore said during a 2019 press conference that the residential home had zoning issues, leading up to their closure:
“It is not a museum. It is a residential house. The street is a very narrow public roadway, inadequate for parking for any commercial enterprise. And the traffic generated by the home inconveniences neighbors.”
