Teyana Taylor is ending 2025 with a bang. Ahead of her birthday, the actress earned a Golden Globe nomination for her supporting role in One Battle After Another. That’s right, she finally got the recognition her fans have been screaming about!

The list of nominees was announced this Monday, and the talented star officially joined the 2026 class. Reacting to the news, Teyana said:

“My birthday’s in two days,” Taylor told Deadline following the nominations announcement. “It’s crazy because I’m in LA and I land back in Atlanta to my babies on my birthday, so I didn’t even have any birthday plans. I want to just land, pick up my kids from school and lay down because I’ve been busy, busy, busy!”

The amazing news comes just weeks after it was announced that she is also in the running to snag her very first Grammy for Best R&B Album. Speaking on that, Teyana said at the time:

“Nearly twenty years ago on November 7th I signed my very first record deal,” she wrote. “And on November 7th, 2025 … God said ‘remember when I told you the weight/wait wasn’t punishment? I told you it was preparation for what I already had written for you?? Baby girl, it’s your time.’ 🥹”

More On the Film Leading the 2026 Golden Globe Nominations

In The movie One Battle After Another, Teyana Taylor plays Perfidia Beverly Hills, a fierce but flawed member of a revolutionary group called The French 75, who grapples with love, motherhood, postpartum depression, and survival, becoming a complex, morally ambiguous figure deeply involved with leaders like Leonardo DiCaprio and Penn’s characters, all while navigating intense loyalty and self-preservation in a gritty world

The movie scored nine Golden Globe nominations, and with momentum like this, it’s not hard to imagine them walking away with a win.

Congrats, Teyana. We’re rooting for you!
