A 14-year-old girl remains hospitalized after her family says she was attacked by multiple students during a fight at her high school.
According to the Daily Mail, Nataya Carter was airlifted from Livingston High School on Wednesday after she was allegedly jumped by two female students. Investigators said the altercation began in the school’s cafeteria, where Carter was reportedly involved in a fight with the two girls before several other individuals joined in.
Authorities arrested five people following the incident, including four minors. Officials have not publicly identified the adult who was also taken into custody.
Family Says Video Shows Teen Thrown Into Brick Wall
Nataya’s family says video footage captured the assault and shows her being thrown into a brick wall, causing her to hit her head and suffer a seizure.
According to relatives, the teenager remains hospitalized and continues to experience seizures while doctors monitor her condition.
Aunt Questions School’s Response
Nataya’s aunt, Sandria Carter, believes the incident could have been prevented.
In a Facebook post , she alleged that a teacher was standing nearby during the altercation but did not step in.
“What is deeply disturbing is that a teacher was standing shoulder-to-shoulder near the students involved while the fight was taking place and, from what the video shows, did not intervene,”
Livingston Independent School District said the incident remains under investigation.
In a statement, the district said:
“We are addressing this incident through both school disciplinary action and legal channels.”
Authorities have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
