A Texas professor is receiving a ton of backlash after tweeting out an appeal to find a “cure for homosexuality,” along with the shocking suggestion that doctors try to identify gay babies during prenatal testing.

Professor Timothy Farage is under investigation by The University of Texas after sending out a tweet that made deceiving claims about an alleged link to homosexuality and monkeypox.

“Can we at least try and find a cure for homosexuality, especially among men,” the computer science professor wrote.

Farage insisted he has “nothing against homosexuals” during an interview with WFAA-TV, but suggested we try to find a “cure” to change someone’s sexual preference.

Farage’s Twitter has since been banned or deleted, but a Twitter user who says he is the president of Pride at UTD tweeted screenshots of Farage’s tweets. When Farage was confronted on his homophobic remarks, he followed up by saying he didn’t think homosexuality was wrong but instead a “medical disorder.”
