An argument over “buttermilk sauce” leads to a shooting
The incident took place on Thursday when the customer was picking up his order from the drive-thru and noticed a charge for extra sauce on his receipt. Harris County deputies said the employees explained to the man that he’d have to pay for the extra dipping ranch but it led to an argument as reported by Click2Houston.
Moments later, the suspect left the drive-thru and started arguing with another employee who was waiting to be picked up after ending their shift. The two started arguing again while the employee walked away from the scene and a female passenger in the suspect’s car joined in. Deputies added that the female passenger shot the employee in the right hand and the driver attempted to run him over prior to the shooting

Investigators say the suspects fled the scene shortly after the shooting and the bullet didn’t go through the employee’s hand. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing as deputies are still looking for the driver and shooter.
Social media chimes in on the shooting
A similar situation happened in Florida when a customer attacked a female Burger King employee on February 27. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that an unidentified male entered the restaurant after becoming upset with the employee while using the drive-thru.
After entering the restaurant, he started to attack her after seeking her whereabouts. Police said he was identified as a Black male, aged between 25 to 30, who weighed about 200 to 230 pounds. They also said he wore a white t-shirt with red writing and black pants.
Last year, a viral video captured customers attacking and robbing Popeyes employees in Florida.
“PBSO Deputies responded to a strong-armed robbery that just occurred to Popeye’s restaurant located in the 7000 block of Seacrest Blvd. Upon arrival, deputies learned a silver Nissan Sentra occupied by four (4) females entered the drive-thru. Upon reaching the window the female passenger/suspect got into a verbal argument with the employee/cashier, spat at and attacked the employee/cashier. Two other suspects got out of the vehicle and began attacking two other employees inside the restaurant. One of the female suspects reached into the window and grabbed money from the register,” the statement reads from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
The women also fled from the scene but it was unclear if they were apprehended by deputies.
