Tesla has issued a fourth recall for its new Cybertruck after identifying an issue involving loose trim pieces and malfunctioning windshield wipers. The vehicle has faced these issues since its market launch on November 30.

The National High Traffic Safety Administration reported that the recall impacted over 11,000 trucks. The issues with the front windshield wiper are linked to an overload of electrical current to the motor controller, which can cause the wipers to fail, potentially reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident, the Associated Press reported. Tesla has not reported any crashes or injuries related to this defect.

Tesla said it is committed to replacing the faulty wiper motors at no cost to the truck owners, who will receive notification letters by August 18. The second part of the recall involves a trim piece alongside the truck bed, which can detach and pose a risk to other road users. The issue was traced back to potentially improper adhesive application during manufacturing.

The company stated they will either replace or repair the trim pieces to ensure they are securely attached. Owners of the affected trucks will also be informed of the issue through the similar letter. In April, Tesla recalled 4,000 trucks due to a similar issue involving a stuck gas pedal that was addressed in a TikTok video.
