Tesla Owner Blows Up Car After Mechanics Charge $23K For New Battery

Finnish man Tuomas Katainen has owned a Tesla since 2013, referring to it as his dream car. But the man states after the first 930 miles is when he started realizing issues.

According to the man, his car was in the shop for a month and then the mechanics called and told him he would have to pay $23,900 for the ‘whole battery cell’

“So I told them I’m coming to pick up the Tesla,” he said in a video, produced by Finnish YouTuber Pommijätkät. “Now I’m going to explode the whole car away.”

More than 2.8 million have watched episode of the car being blown up on youtube. which received a call from Katainen for assistance blowing up his out-of-warranty Tesla.

Crews set up the eruption at an old quarry in snowy Jaala, in southern Finland, where they got about 66 pounds (33 kilograms) of dynamite to the self-driving sedan.

The event wouldn’t be perfect of course without Elon Musk being present — which, generally, he was not. But the staff did go so far as to employ a helicopter to fly over the blast location and drop a collision test dummy with a painting of Elon Musk glued to its face. It was also wearing a jumpsuit and a helmet, for realism.
