Tennessee YouTuber Fatally Shot In Robbery Prank Gone Wrong
On Friday evening (Feb. 5), Timothy Wilks, a 20-year-old Tennessee YouTuber, was fatally shot in a robbery prank gone wrong in a Nashville parking lot.
According to Metropolitan Nashville Police Department officials, on their 9:25 p.m. arrival to Urban Air, an indoor trampoline park in the city’s Hermitage neighborhood, they learned Wilks and an unidentified friend approached a group of people, including 23-year-old David Starnes Jr., wielding butcher knives — all a part of a prank for their YouTube channel.

However, Starnes told detectives that he was unaware of the prank and ended up shooting Wilks in defense of himself and others around them. As this is an unusual case, Metropolitan Nashville police are still investigating the incident, and have not pressed any charges against Starnes or anyone else in connection to the murder of Wilks. There has not been any updates on the status of Wilks’ friend, nor confirmation on whether Starnes had a license or permit to carry.
