Tennessee Highway Shuts Down After Truck’s PA System Warns Drivers To Evacuate

A driver has been detained by police after their white box truck was parked outside of a convenience store and played a recording similar to what was heard before the explosion in Nashville.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that its deputies responded to a call about a vehicle being outside of a Crossroads Market in Walter Hill around 10:30 a.m. Witnesses reported that the vehicle played a message from a loudspeaker warning bystanders to evacuate the area and Wilson County Police closed Highway 231 South as a precaution.

As per their Facebook page, they wrote:” The driver traveled from Rutherford County into Wilson County where he was stopped by deputies and detained. As a precaution, nearby residents were evacuated during the active investigation. Rutherford County dispatchers received a call about 10:30 a.m. about the white box truck parked at Crossroads Market in Walter Hill. Deputies located the truck and made the traffic stop.”

The investigation is currently ongoing and drivers are urged to seek alternative routes. As for the situation in Nashville, the person of interest has been identified as Anthony Q. Warner, 63. DNA found at the site was matched to DNA collected from his home.
